ADDENDUM to the Rasmussen University Catalog and Student Handbook 2021-2022 June 30, 2022 p. 143, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Progression Requirements (6/15/2022) Add this new section immediately before Reenter Policy: 1. Students enrolled in this program are scheduled as a cohort, and have a required course sequence and credit load that must be followed. 2. The cohort progresses sequentially through eight quarters and graduates after successful completion of all credit hours. 3. Each course must be passed in order to progress to the subsequent quarter, with the exception of PHT8810 Clinical Education Experience I. If PHT8810 is failed Quarter 5, the student may be allowed to take didactic courses in Quarter 6 retake PHT8810 in Quarter 7. 4. Each course can be attempted a maximum of two times, whether passed, failed or withdrawn, with the exception of Clinical Education Experience courses. A student is able to fail and repeat a maximum of one Clinical course. The remaining two Clinical courses must be passed on the first attempt. 5. Each didactic course in this program is offered only one time each year and serve as prerequisites for courses in subsequent quarters. A student will not be eligible to participate in a Clinical Education Experience course when the prerequisite didactic course is not passed. 6. A student must complete this program within a three calendar-year period from the point in time of starting the program, or risk being administratively withdrawn from the program. 7. If a student fails or withdraws from a course in the first year of their program, they will either be placed on a leave or be administratively withdrawn from the program at the end of the quarter. If a course is failed in the second year of the program, the student will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. a. If the student wishes to repeat a failed or withdrawn course, they must request a leave with a duration of up to three quarters. After three quarters, the student must continue with their coursework where they left off, as long as there is room in the cohort. b. If the student chooses not to continue the first eligible quarter, they will be withdrawn from the University. If the student chooses to reenter the program at a later date, they will be treated as a new student for the purposes of tuition and fees, academic program requirements, and graduation standards. They must also meet all acceptance requirements as stated in the current catalog. 8. Reentry is limited to one time for students withdrawn from the program for any reason. However, students who have been administratively withdrawn/dismissed from the program for disciplinary or conduct reasons may not be eligible for reentry into the program and may not be eligible for reentry to Rasmussen University. p. 144, Reenter Policy (1/21/2022, 4/28/2022, 6/15/2022) Replace the second paragraph with the following: If a student is not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress at the time of withdrawal and wants to switch to a different program upon return, the Program Transfer Policy must be followed. Students returning in satisfactory academic standing or on Financial Aid Warning must have a financial balance of $1,000 or less to be considered for return. For start dates in July through October of 2022 they must have a balance of $2,000 or less to be considered for return. All returning students must pay their balances in full prior to the term end date as outlined in the Payment of Tuition and Fees policy. Students returning on Financial Aid Probation, regardless of aid status, must have a zero financial balance and have paid half the tuition amount of the upcoming quarter/ term by seven calendar days after the quarter/term start. Students in Health Sciences programs must complete a programmatic assessment in order to determine an appropriate level of reentry. These students will be allowed to reenter if space is available and all other reentry requirements are met. Students reentering into or transferring to the Physical Therapist Assistant program must complete the requirements as detailed in the Physical Therapist Assistant Associate’s Degree Program Re-enrollment Policy. Students reentering into or transferring to a Nursing program must also complete the requirements as detailed in the School of Nursing Reenter Policy. p. 144, School of Nursing Reenter Policy (3/17/2022) Replace the second paragraph with the following: Additionally, students who have been administratively withdrawn from a School of Nursing program, those who fail two core nursing courses, or those who fail the same core nursing course twice, or those who withdrew from the same nursing course more than one time on or after April 12, 2022, are not eligible for reentry into the same program within the School of Nursing until no fewer than four full academic quarters have passed since the date of programmatic withdrawal, subject to the School of Nursing Course Expiration Policy. Effective for students starting May 11, 2022 or later, replace the third paragraph with the following: Reentry into a previously attempted Nursing diploma, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree entrance option This addendum modifies catalog content as indicated, and supersedes all previous addenda.
