Students apply the learned skills of therapeutic interviewing, evaluation, and formulation of treatment plans for aging adults with psychiatric disorders. Emphasis is placed on identification of signs and symptoms of disorders, therapeutic modalities and pharmacological interventions. Although practice experiences may include patients across the lifespan, there is a focus on therapeutic interviewing, evaluation, and formulation of treatment plans for aging adults with psychiatric disorders. Prerequisites: Completion of all 5000-level courses; NGR6920 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Practicum II NGR6940 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Practicum IV 190 hours, 7 credits This final practicum course provides an opportunity for students to work with patients within the student’s particular areas of interest.
