This addendum modifies catalog content as indicated and supersedes all previous addenda. Page 16 / 32 2024-2025 ADDENDUM to the Rasmussen University Catalog and Student Handbook April 15, 2025 during the requisite course, the student can request an Incomplete grade (I) for the course to allow the student additional time to achieve the required score within a maximum of two attempts in total (inclusive of all attempts made during the requisite course or the incomplete period) by the first day of the following quarter. Students who achieve the required individual score within the two maximum attempts by the first day of the following quarter will receive a grade change based on completing all other assignments and exams within the course. If the student is not successful in meeting the required individual score within the two maximum attempts, the student will fail the course and be scheduled to repeat the failed course if allowed by the School of Nursing Repeating Courses and Course Withdrawal Policy for Pre-Licensure Programs. P. 159 Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) (12/16/2024) Under “Credits and grades considered in determining Satisfactory Academic Progress”, replace the first paragraph: All credits earned and attempted remain on the student’s transcript and will be applied to the program if the credits are considered part of the program. At the time of a SAP assessment, all credits attempted that are applicable to the student’s program are considered when determining all three SAP standards. Every time a student is enrolled in a course past the course drop policy deadlines, the credits will count as attempted. For definition of grades see the Grade Scales. In instances where course expiration policies apply, the credits are no longer applicable to that program and they will not be utilized in determining the student’s SAP standing. See Course Expiration policies for core courses in the School of Nursing, School of Technology, School of Design, School of Health Sciences, and the School of Justice Studies. Replace the 2nd bullet in the second column: • Repeated and unexpired course credits from prior attempts will count toward the total credits attempted for the Cumulative Completion Rate. The highest grade earned from unexpired repeated courses will be used to calculate the student’s cumulative GPA. If more than one attempt results in the same letter grade, only the most recent one will be used to calculate GPA. See Repeating Courses Policies. P. 162 Extenuating Circumstances Policy (1/2/2025) Add this new policy, which is effective Winter quarter 2025, before the Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Learning, Assessment, and Research Policy: Extenuating Circumstances Policy During your studies at Rasmussen, you may experience circumstances outside your control that may impact your ability to fulfill the requirements of your courses or program. The following are considered extenuating circumstances with appropriate documentation: • Military service • Jury duty • Formal written accommodations obtained through the Campus Accommodations Coordinator as permitted under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. If the extenuating circumstances reported fall under a Title IX offense and/or pregnancy-related conditions, this should be reported to the Title IX Coordinator at [email protected] for support and consideration. Title IX Offenses include incidents of sexual misconduct such as sex-based harassment, sexual violence, dating and domestic violence.
